Play Urban XR Games is Part of the 'Interactive XR App'
The core infrastructure envisioned for Interactive Cities XR Fest is designed for significant impact through advanced technological deployments directly within the urban environment. Theoretically, participation wouldn't strictly necessitate a dedicated user application. We leverage cutting-edge hardware such as interactive hologram devices (like HoloRunway), large-scale projection mapping systems, and responsive touch-enabled LED displays – technologies QVARX actively develops and integrates. Combined with other interactive devices and the seamless integration of sophisticated AI models and existing APIs, this setup creates immersive and engaging experiences accessible directly within the festival's physical footprint. This hardware-centric layer ensures a baseline level of spectacular, shared interaction is available to attendees on-site.
However, we chose a distinct and complementary approach by also developing the 'Interactive XR' mobile application. This app allows us to offer personalized, location-specific augmented reality experiences, facilitate deeper user interaction across different installations and platforms (like Play Urban XR Games), and extend the festival's reach beyond the immediate vicinity of physical installations. We have developed this application and conducted initial field tests to validate its capabilities within the ecosystem.

Mobile AR Player Framework: A robust, ready-made system for GPS-accurate player tracking and interaction with real-world coordinates, optimized for iOS and Android. Building a Thriving Open-Source Ecosystem Our core mission is to give back to the Unreal Engine community. We are achieving this through a unique three-pillar ecosystem model: The Tool: The UrbanXR Toolkit will be released as a free, open-source project on GitHub under a permissive MIT license. The Example: We are developing our own flagship game, "Play Urban XR Games," as a living showcase of the toolkit's power and to drive its continuous improvement. The Platform: The "Interactive Cities XR Fest" will be a community-focused event, providing a stage for other creators to showcase the amazing experiences they build with our toolkit. Intellectual Property & The Power of Open Source Our IP strategy is simple and designed to maximize community adoption and innovation. The core UrbanXR Toolkit framework will be fully open-source (MIT license), allowing for unrestricted use, modification, and distribution, even for commercial projects.
